Middle school is a pivotal time in a girl’s development, and the challenges facing them today are unlike any generation before. Research shows that adolescents are experiencing a sharp decline in mental health, with middle school girls disproportionately affected. According to the CDC’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey, nearly 1 in 3 teen girls seriously considered attempting suicide in 2021, a nearly 60% increase from a decade ago.
Experts agree that social-emotional learning (SEL) is not just beneficial—it’s essential. The American Psychological Association notes that “structured SEL programs increase emotional regulation, self-awareness, and connection to others, which are foundational for mental wellness and academic success.” And as Education Week reports, “The isolation and instability brought by the COVID-19 pandemic have made the need for SEL support even more urgent.”
That’s where our curriculum comes in.
Our curriculum is intentionally designed to create a safe, culturally fortifying, and supportive atmosphere for middle school girls to develop self-worth, empathy, resilience, and leadership. It isn’t just about coping—it’s about thriving, together. And because our curriculum is aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) character standards, educators can trust that it complements academic goals while meeting critical developmental needs.
With every lesson, we build connection, confidence, and community—essential tools for navigating adolescence in a world still healing.
We’re inviting parents, educators, and counselors to be among the first to explore and evaluate our SEL curriculum for middle school girls. Your insights are invaluable as we ensure our resources are not only impactful, but also responsive to the real needs of the communities we serve. By gathering diverse feedback early, we strengthen both the quality and the relevance of our content. Community input builds trust, fosters ownership, and helps us create something that truly resonates. Join us in shaping the future of social-emotional learning—your voice matters.
